Rare, new Reindeer Cerith snail. Comes with attached macroalgae horns. Cannot burrow in the sandbed, but will rarely fall on its back. Will clean your substrate and fix your nitrate problem!

On a more serious note, if anyone wants to tell me what that new Cerith I got from ReefCleaners is wearing, would be fun to know. It's on the snail pretty securely.

Spoke with John at ReefCleaners. He says that is gracilaria on the cerith. Perhaps I can trim it and plant some gracilaria in my DT!
Some people put hats on their urchins.
Just leave it and you get credit for discoverer of first snail hat,,, plus royalties when someone starts 3D-printing and selling them???

Ah yes, sustainable reefing!

Still wearing its antlers! This endearing little fella is moving up on the list of favorite tank inhabitants. Loves to be on top of the rocks, like a little king of his little hill.

Haha, thanks for reviving this!

I saw this guy a little while ago. He's hard to ID now, because his antlers have rubbed down to just an attach nub, but I was amazed it was still alive and working! It lasted a couple of months with the antlers getting shorter and shorter as pieces broke off, but the base attachment never broke off! FYI, it can go under the sand, now that the antlers don't impede him.

He certainly was a hilarious snail. Invert of the month now, though, is the pitho crab! Super entertaining.
