I recently had a GHA outbreak, I think it is old tank syndrome. Nitrates at 80.00 (new test kit) 55 gallon water change immediately done. Added Reef Flux for 200 gallons I am running right at 300+ gallons. I know a little light for the Reef Flux. Nitrates dropped in two days to 10.00 ..! GHA slowed way down and a lot gone rest is just dark, dark, brown green. It was been some 12 days now. I have some Chemiclean as well just for a lot of stains. Not done anything as of yet. DOWN the road I will, but "NOT RIGHT NOW". I want to do water changes before that.. My questions are so many... Here is my dilemma right now Salifert KH reads right now at 2.2 way low...! Alk at 0.80...! *it is an old test kit. I am going to try get a new one today. BUT If it is spot on, how do I raise my Alk..? Baking soda..? or just more water changes?. Nitites zero, Phosphates zero, Nitrates at 10., PH 8.20, Calcium 350. I think Ammonia also at zero.. I am running about very easily 200 lbs of rock ( to much I know ) it is all covered with coralline beautiful purple red really nice rock. I will sell some off after it is all cleaned up. I do have 200 gallon dose of reef flux coming tomorrow morning. I plan on dosing more tomorrow. Alkalinity I am at a total lost with..? My rock seems soft.. and some of it is starting to shell down to the white in some spots. Lesson learned here DO NOT NEGLETE YOUR TANK.. I know kick me.. Help needed here... please..
