I really need to stop picking up stuff off the street !

Ok, The other day I found this acrylic tank 36 by 15 by 16. It's a Kritter Aquatics tank according to the sticker. There were 2 filters with it A Top Fin RP600 & an Aquatech 10-20. This thing is filthy and not sure how to clean up an acrylic tank. I would fill it with a couple gallons of vinegar & water and soften the scum up a bit. Any Op's on cleaning and how to stop picking up stuff off the street !

Vinegar/water and a magic eraser original (the basic non smelly one). That'll at least let you see how scratched it may be and check seams. If nothing too deep, it is possible to step down sanding pads all the way to a buffing wheel to bring back to new.

As far as picking stuff up off the street. Can't help ya there, I think it's second nature to reefers. Look how much I saved on something, it was free, now I have more money for my tank. Yay!

Thanks reefer, I have no idea if it leaks or just how scratched up it is. I see a nice remote refugium or such. I could not drive by ! However I have plenty of tanks & stuff around already !

If you want to really polish it up and make it crystal clear again, buy some Novus products ( I bought off of Amazon), there is a series of 3 or 4 different compounds for just polishing up to removing heavy scratches it will look great! Good find there!!

Hello , I'm not going to do any buffing on this tank. I have several already & honestly don't want to put that much work into. I was thinking a sump or separate refugium. So today I soaked the inside with pure vinegar & cleaned it up a bit. Then filled with water to check for leaks. So for no leaks & the section I cleaned well looks pretty good. Thanks !
