I don't know if I chose the correct forum but....

I was checking out a thread when I came across a member (Dustin) link to his website named Reefaholic. http://reefaholic.com/ Maybe he'll chime in.

When I saw his coral dip treatment product, I was shocked and said, OMG ! Really ? lol...
It is, Bayer Complete Insect Killer.

My wife and I use this in our garden and probably have a container in the shed.

Have any of you tried this chemical ?
Gotta love DIY stuff !

Process:
  • Dilution of 10 mL Bayer to 1000 mL (1 L) of your tank water
  • Dip for no more than 10 minutes
  • Move water in dipping container (powerhead, turkey baster)
  • Rinse in saltwater without Bayer to remove any residual chemicals left behind
I’ve used on many LPS, SPS, Zoanthids and not yet experienced any losses pointing to the use of the formula. I use a stronger dilution than many and since I’ve not experienced losses, will continue to use a stronger bath.

Warnings:

  • Always rinse after soaking in the bath as it is deadly to fish/inverts
  • Eggs can remain from pests such as AEFW. It’s recommended you dip for 6+ weeks every 5-7 days to ensure no eggs developed into more pests
  • Use gloves and read all warnings on bottle
  • This is my observations. If you have a pests sneak through, lose a coral, or have any negative impact due to the treatment I’m not responsible!
Happy dipping and always better to be proactive rather than reactive in our wonderful hobby!

Strange, that corals being so delicate, that using a product that kills bugs, would kill any corals !
