Long story short I managed to put about 5 cups of Vinegar into my tank last night. Almost immediately after doing it I realized what I did. I got the little bit of livestock out of the tank and into the fuge and stopped running tank water through it and performed a small water change. I only had about 5 gallons on hand which is about 8 percent. After I get home from school this evening I am going to do another 30%. As of now the fish appear fine in the fuge and the zoa has begun opening although it is not lit currently. I know vinegar drops the Ph which was around 8 and it went down to or below 7, Ive got it back to 8.1

My question is, besides the huge Ph drop and if the fish make it, is there any residue affect on having the vinegar in the tank or should it be fine now as long as the Ph is back up and stabilized?

Get the pH stabilized and things should be fine, I would do a couple of water changes over the next few days.

Did you drop the container in or something?

I was cleaning all my pumps over the weekend and had the vinegar on my bench in the container I used to use before I installed the ATO. While I was mixing Kalk in the ATO I figured I’d top the tank off while I was letting the Kalk settle. At the time I knew I should have labeled it but figured I could never make such a stupid mistake. And then I went and did exactly what I thought I could never do
