I got the same coral for 5 bucks from a LFS the guy said it was dead and it was on a rock needless to say it was not dead and was attached to a ginormous turkey wing clam

I have a rule that anything going into my tank from the lfs has to be less then 20$. This is only for corals. I only buy corals that are up to 75% off because they seem unhealthy or look to far gone.
My best pickup is my blue maxima clam, 3-4 inches for 15$ because the owner of a lfs near me ripped off its foot trying to move it into a display tank and he "knew it was a goner". He was wrong ;) here's some pics with prices.
12.99 about 4 inches, my favorite chalice I've found for cheap.

If you're referring to the polyps, I just place them in moderate flow and low light

Here they are when I bought them.
If you're referring to the frogspawn I placed it in high light, also I preform water changes every other day to keep my levels in check

If I remember correctly, I paid $25 for a Sohal about 20 years ago. Sold it back to the same store 10 years later for over $300 (it was about 12" long).

Feather dusters often set in the tanks long enough and close enough to stick to each other.

When this happens I buy 1 but take home more. Then I trade them to my friends for corals or money.

Other than that everything is over priced and not that eye catching. 15/frag or 34 per "colony" no matter what the coral. Sometimes you'll find a $34 giant Lps or the next day will be a $34 Kenya tree that's 3 inches tall. They don't know the names of anything, hence the stupid pricing.

The pet stores I enjoy going to aren't stupid enough to allow what goes on at the first one I mentioned. Place is more like a flea market. Bwahahahaha

I got this 5 headed splattered hammer for $20. The owner of the lfs said he even paid $30 for it. Love being friends with the owners of an lfs

I once got 5lbs of $15/lb live rock from big als for free because I bought some other rock and two fish, and the blonde at the counter got all flustered. :3

FYI, big als premium rock is still ****. :(
