Bubble magnus curve 9. I've fought for months with this thing and cant get more than a day or 2 of consistent skim with that being crappy skim mate. It constantly goes haywire with overflowing being the most annoying issue.

Im cleaning the venturi again today.

Sitting 10" right now. Now fluctuations

I put my hands in the tank it acts up, I put frozen food in it acts up, I swap out socks it acts up.

Any ideas?

brand new socks can do that to a skimmer but anything that changes the surface tension of sea water can change how the skimmer operates, oils on your hands, oils in foods all contribute to the over skimming. Have you tried to double up on carbon to remove those impurities from the water?

any other additives that you may be using on your system? i had an eshopps skimmer on my previous tank and it would go nuts when i added polyplabs booster. came to find out that the booster is primarily oil. on my current system im using a red sea RSK and it overflowed for weeks before acting right, it could just be breaking in

I don't run carbon right now. My socks are just changed out after cleaning but aren't new. No other additives besides my hands, frozen food, and nori.

I tossed some bags of carbon in my socks jic but I think I found the issue. My venturi valve was on my pump suction slightly crooked. I guess I bumped it installing the skimmer. You couldn't tell unless you pulled it all the way out of the sump. Knock on wood but I have that columbian coffee skimmate that will make gag now.
