One side is nice and inflated the other has shrank and sucked in. What do you think?

tank parameters?
is it new/under direct lighting?
was it target fed recently?
was this pic taken after the lights had just turned on or a few hours after?

It has looked this way for the last few days. I got him 3 weeks ago. When I swapped to the new stand I had to pull tank completely apart and added a refugium 40g new wc with sump was 70g of new sw could this have shocked only half of it.

2 weeks after I got it target fed twice a week. He was on top of the rock looking good.

You have no nutrients in your system ., 0 nitrates, between 1-5 is good , you probably have 0 phosphates as well , needs to rise a little, corals need nutrients

I have over feed the tank a little I don't have a pho checker but I know they are there Lil green algae in tank. I carbon dose it keep my nitrates around 5 but I think the huge water added dropped them to where they don't register. But why only one side.

another worthy note: he is pretty close to the lights AND youre target feeding. He may just be bombarded.
Try to move him lower and not target feed-getting your nutrients up in the tank would be a good idea too

I can't offer any advice over what has already been posted, other try situating it under the self offering a bit of shade.
Mine started with BJD in a small area and within the course of a week it had taken it's toll on more than half the hammer. Which never fully recovered and I lost the rest of it a couple mths later.

Hoping your's is just being grumpy.

Unfortunatly, yep, that was how big the skeleton was when BJD hit.
When fully open and happy, it was twice that size. Large enough that it hosted a harem of 5 clowns for several years without a hiccup.

wow...thats unbelievable. How big was it when you got it? and how long did it take to grow that big?

To be honest I purchased it along with a custom 180 gal complete set up for a couple pennies to the dollar.
I had it for roughly 1 1/2 years before poof the BJD reared its ugly head.

IIRC, previous owner had it for roughly 6 years. When he got it, it was the size of a softball.
