Ok so my brother in-law decided to give me his clownfish. When it arrived this fish is less than 1 inch. He had it for several months with no signs of growth. The thing eats like a savage! Could he had given me a runt or some sort of dwarf clownfish? He looks bigger than I described but he is definitely less than 1 inch in person. Lol

Looks like a normal clownfish just young. Are you specifically talking about the smaller of the two? If so it is staying smaller because it is forced to stay male because the female will make it submissive

I am speaking about the smaller of the 2. The thing is. He had it with another clown fish that this clownfish killed. I recently put him in this tank with the bigger one you see in the video. I only had the larger one until today.

All juveniles or males will still fight to try and become the most dominant one. Sometimes one of the clownfish can die, it isnt unheard of. If this one isnt locking jaws with the larger female it is still very likely a juvenile or male. Juveniles and males will stay much smaller than females

Some clownfish will also just stay smaller than others, probably genetics but i dont think there are actually dwarf clownfish other than stubby clownfish which i think are either missing a section of vertebrae and/or have a bent vertebrae section
