Ok, so I thought I had lugol's and didn't so I went lfs and picked up some melafix and thats all they had. I diped the corals that were questionable and they don't look happy about it. that stuff smells like pinesol.

Should I dip them again and if so when?

I finally got to texting things and this is what i got:

ph 8.0
nitrate 10ppm
cal 392
alk 7.6
mag 1230

I don't have PO4 test kit but I have some algea growth, nothing real bad but its there. Idk, what do you guys think?

if your lights are no and your Ph is 8.0 that is low. try testing ph in the morning thats when its at its lowest, im guessing you will test around 7.6 7.8. and what is your salinity, alk is low too. hope this helps

I tested about 3hrs after the lights went out but I'll test again in the morning and see where its at.

Any ideas on when and if to dip again/ Thanks

I just noticed a chalice frag with it now. Does anyone recommend dosing the whole tank with melafix as per the instructions or would that be bad? The acan is gone and I don't want to lose anything else. How can I fix this?

acans are usually pretty strong, check your phosphate and nitrate, if your having red slim, something is not balanced

Its a bacterial infection that seems to be spreading. My nitrates are 10ppm and idk about PO4. anyone know if interceptor would kill it?

I did 2 things when something similar happen to me

First i did the Interceptor caus i had redbugs also; the redbugs disapear
and the chalice, acans were holding a little but then a did the Revive dip and thats when they started to come back stronger also mid flow is a most on acans

I'm going to be setting up a new tank in a week or two and I was going to put everything in a smaller tank while I'm swaping tanks, would it be a good idea to treat everything at once while its in the small tank? At this rate I will have dipped everything anyway. Is revive any better than melafix? I can't find revive locally. How many times and how often should I dip? Sorry so many questions, I just want this stuff gone.

Revive is very good even to dip corals with red bugs

You could give chalices a 5-10 min dip in revive with no problem
always use a pipette to blow it
