I think my tank has velvet

Mimic tang died yesterday for what appeared to be no reason. Today there is white fuzz on all my fish, looks like velvet. I am a beginner and didn't use a quarantine tank and do not have a hospital tank. Is there anything I can do. I have two tomatoes, and a sand sifting goby.

Do you have a plastic tub they can go into?

I would dip them in 1.25ml 3% hydrogen peroxide per cup of tank water for 30 min and get them into a QT tank that has copper dosed to therapeutic level (assuming this is velvet). It does not need to be a glass tank. A rubbermade plastic container is fine.

Can you get photos under WHITES? To make sure it is velvet and not brook or such.

Does the display tank have corals and inverts?

Rapid breathing is the key symptom for velvet. Can you post a short video under white lights?

Agree with others - pics would help a lot. Treatment of choice would be copper if velvet.

It's impossible to get a good shot of the front of his head where most of the white is.

No corals or inverts. His body looks kinda fuzzy but camera is catching more dotty. Sorry, was sleepy last night.

Definitely looks like velvet (or really late stage ich) to me in the video. If one has it, it’s safe to assume the rest do.
When they get that fuzzy, it’s often too late, but getting it into copper ASAP is the best you can do. A fw dip can alleviate symptoms, but the angel may be too weak for it at this point.

No corals but two peppermint shrimp and a starfish.

Copper would be the preferred treatment for either disease. However, that can take up to three days to start to work, and it is unlikely the angel will live that long.

Still, you *might* be able to save it if you move it right into a full dose of coppersafe in a quarantine tank. You might want to give it a 5 minute freshwater dip as you move it over, with the caveat that the fish is pretty weak and may not survive that.

He survived the freshwater dip and is resting comfortably in some copper water.
