Oh my goodness!!! I need these.
If I start dressing my urchins I think it's time for an intervention.
Believe it or not my Petco had nice urchinsCool little guys.
Used to have 2 blue tuxedo urchins but unfortunately came back from last holiday, last December to one dead at entrance to pistol shrimps burrow and 2 days later the 2nd was dead on sandbed.
I'm thinking as tanksitter only feeding once a day ( incase anything went wrong and parameters went out off whack plus was hard enough to get mother in law to come the once a day as it was) so thinking livestock in tank getting less food and one off them took out the urchin,I'm thinking one off my cleaner shrimp as caught it in the acturdering one my conch as it minding its own business eating algae pffft but guess never will know what killed the urchins.
Went to an event at a local lfs few weeks back in hopes off getting a halloween tuxedo urchin as they such nice vibrant colours ,but had none but will get one in near future but will just be getting one this time as another guess is the other 2 urchins didn't have enough to eat as my rocks relatively clean.
But very Interesting hard working cuc Indeed ^_^
I was kind of hoping the coraline would outpace them?Got both of my tuxedo's from petco. Great little algae eater. Just be aware, if you like coralline, they like it even more.
My tank is very mature, and pretty much devoide of coralline thanks to 2 tuxedos, and a short spine pincushion.
I have 3 in my tank to 65g DT 15g sump. They cleaned everything so nicely I'm worried about food for them so guess I don't mind if they chew on my coraline now.It does outpace them, but they make a great dent in it. With 3 in an 80G cube, they keep it well in check.
