I took a chance on a emporer angelfish

After the lights are out. Get up in middle of the night and turn on the lights. The fish are confused and u can grab him easily. The fish are disoriented and literally clueless. Works the best!

A little patients and a fish trap go a long way. FYI, acans are always the first to go with not so reef safe fish

Yeah, my emperor eats LPS and will even mow a gsp lawn. He's fine with sps, shrooms, hammers, and torches.

I havent had an Acan yet, but I kept 2 emperors at different times,Juvi with Clams and other LPS with no issue.
I know its luck but it hasnt happened to me.
I do not have an Emperor anymore but i do have a blue face angel adult and a majestic angel adult. Both are fine.
I saw my Majestic pick at my Goniopora 1 time, i moved it out of its swimming lane and it never bothered it again.
I have Torches, Hammers, Frogspawn, 3 Clams, 3 Goniopora, Sun coral, Elegance... All are fine with my Angels now. Been like that for a while.

I wish I had your luck... Every angel I've owned (Cept my flame angel) has picked at every coral I have, even a regal that I had And the acans were the first to go. I wish I could home a regal and a emperor or a queen, or a blue face.

I'd invest in a fish trap. That way you won't have to remove everything and stress the fish.

I currently have a coral beauty in my tank and he is fine. I plan to add a potter's andel and a flame angel. Im going to wait till I set up my 180 to as dd them and im going to add all three at the same time. When I set up the 180g im going to do a huge refugium section and have it double as a frag tank. Then I will try to keep at least on of each kind of coral in there and add the angels to the frag tank firat to see if they will eat coral before I put them in the dt. I want a reagal angel in the far future so thos is probably how I would add him also. That way if they do eat coral it is easier to get them out.

I use the aquamedic fish trap. It's kind of expensive (around $50) but man is it worth it! I've caught every fish I've ever tried to catch with it. I use a baster and squirt a little food in the trap through the food hole and the fish and the fish go in, pull a string and the door slides shut on them. I just caught my flame angel the other day.

A big net! Feed its favorite food and when it comes up to eat, as fast as you can scoop with the net. You can only do it once maybe twice. If you miss wait a few days and try again. If you miss again you'll never get another chance. If that fails use egg crate and divide the tank off and just use a net.

I disagree with Nets !!!! BIG OR SMALL
I use to get my Angels fins caught in the net every time i needed to remove them for any reason... causes a lot of stress..
I think the lights out method is the best... pick it up with your hand...
I stopped using nets for fish, every time i got a new fish and used my hands never had any bad results...
recently put in a Purple tang and Powder Blue tang no stress no ich !
Same with the blue face
