Yes they will. I plan to trade my harlequin when he is done eating the asterinas in my tank. Slowly but surely they are disappearing.

If you have any Wrasse they will eat those shrimp, I bought one and never saw it again!

Bill bought a $40 dollar snack for his Melenurus Wrasse....Mine ate both of my $10 porcelain crabs, I just took a $20 hit...hhahaha

I got a melenuurus wrasse and never messed with my harlequin shrimp or acro crab.
But the harlequin shrimp did eat my sand starfish.

From my experience the harleys do a good job on the asterinas but don't seem to bother the micro brittle stars. I think they want something that will just sit there and "take it" and the brittle stars are a little too fast for them. But, as others have said, a lot of wrasses will eat them although I had a 6 line in one tank that didn't bother it.
