I wouldn't buy a single coral right now

Is there a thread about this yet? Rumor has it that Indonesia is opening back up by the end of January. Heard this through the grapevine. Great for industry, but it also means any of these Aussie corals like Holy Grails are gonna be about $50 probably by February. Thought I'd throw this up because from what I heard it's 99.9% sure. Spread the word and hopefully people stop spending a thousand dollars on Master Scolys HAHA

1+1=9 LOL That doesn't make any sense. If someone announced that on Black Friday they would kill the value of their own corals. I'm pretty sure it's true but don't want to say because it was just entrusted to me.

This was my initial response and feeling....I have been hearing it for a few months from a couple reef stores around this area. They are hopeful but sceptical as well.

I would agree the prices might fluctuate a bit but I doubt you will see items that are $500 drop to $50. Corals are very different from each area and each have their own features.

And when the band Is lifted I would think it would be more of the indo market to be hit and all those indo dragon and fire torches going for 400 a head will go for 200 as there will be a FLOOD of indo corals to the market.

I hope so because that means lower prices for us all!

I even heard from some of our wholesalers that are saying not to buy Holy Grails LOL 5 of them actually. It must be pretty close if they don't want stores ticked that they paid hundreds for a head then the Indonesia ban lifted

Although I am one of the silly ones that bought 1 of each lately.

A gold aussie torch and a dragon soul. I got them together for around 500 but still I would have bought more if they are less than 250 each...which I hope they will be soon!!!

I really hope it's true.

So do I. Been in this industry 30 years. This industry is a shell of what it used to be in its prime. If they ban actually gets lifted I'm going to buy a gold boat, solid gold skis, and a solid gold braided rope and just watch it all sink to the bottom while I light cigars with hundred dollar bills on the shoreline.

That is not true. The higher end ones come from Australia but there are Scoly that come from different areas.
