IBC Totes: Calling all DIY'ers - any ideas?

I know I’m coming on a little late here, but I had a question. I recently bought 2 IBC totes to create my mixing station. They had vinegar for cooking in them previously. Aside from rising then really well with the hose, should I do anything else to clean them to avoid any ph swings in my reef tank?

Why not cut an access door in the top? You can cut the hole as large as you want, then use some cheap acrylic and some plastic hinges to be able to close the hatch? Do the totes have to be stacked? You could put your RO totes next to the salt one if room allows...

The biggest problem with cutting the top out is you lose the ability to contain condensation. If you are mixing with lots of agitation and heating you get even more condensate on the roof of the container. Anyone who has used brute cans for mixing has experienced this when taking the lid off and making a puddle on the floor. You lose the way to contain all of that when there is no top.

I totally agree, maybe there is a way to make a seal for the "lid" using sicone, im picturing like a gasket the lid pushes down into.
