Ice Cap CO2 Media

Anyone else had issues with the Ice Cap C02 absorption media? I bought it from BRS and it has done NOTHING to my PH. Seems like it was exhausted before I started using it since I’ve gotten no color change after a week.

Previously I was running Two little fishies CDX and it was really good/never had issues, switched to see if the ice cap maybe lasted longer....hopefully it’s just me who got a dud package....

While I can’t speak about the ice cap brand most use the soda lime from shopmedvet.com. Doesn’t get depleted no where near as fast as others. I was reading BRS brand was having this issue as well.

Thanks for the reply I’ll have to give it an attempt. Two little fishies has always been good as well. I had read the same stuff about BRS which is why I avoided giving them a try. It’s a shame because they usually do a pretty decent job at trying to carry reputable and affordable products under their brand name.

Agreed most of everything they sell under their brand is a great product. But I will say there C02 media is not so great.

Sounds like the old stuff was better based off review trends and then they changed suppliers and went downhill. Hopefully my experience with icecap is isolated and not the norm

More than likely I haven’t heard anything about icecaps product. Definitely look at that link I sent you it’s really good product. I do not use it anymore as I was able to run my skimmer lines outside.
