Hey guys. I have a 40B mixed tank, fairly new, feel like I need some better flow. I've been looking at the ice cap gyres. I've got 2 questions:

1. Does the gyre have an anemone guard available? I'm having a hard time finding it if there is one. I see a little mesh screen on coralvue's website, but not sure if this is anemone safe or just a general guard without anemone specific protection?

2. As usual, I will be upgrading in the future at some point, but 40B for a while at least. Im looming into getting 1-2 pumps. I'll start with 1 and tailor based on dead spots and what not. Would the 4k be to much flow for this little tank? If I can get good flow with a single 4k with the option to add on when the bigger tank comes, that would be nice. Otherwise, would multiple 2ks be a better fit for me? I guess I can always just have 4 2ks in the bigger tank? Probably will give me more versatility. Thanks

I've got a pair of the 2ks on my tank (48" x 24"). They push a lot of water. I placed ene on each back corner at an angle so they pushed water to the front center of the tank. On their lowest flow % they were blowing sand away from the front pane. I had to remove one blade from each one. Yes, the mesh screen is the nem guard.

Sweet, thanks for the input. Sounds like I'll start with 1of the 2ks. Ha

I also have 2 of the 2k's running in my tank (67 gal) and its a nice amount of flow.
