Just got an Ice Fire Echinata a few days ago and was curious about the best placement/current to get the bright blue tips with white base/branches? I currently have it about 7" from a 150W 14K Phoenix bulb that is on for 7hrs with (2) 36W PC actinics on for 10hrs in med/strong current. Tank is 29g BioCube
Parameters Are:
Alk: 9 dKH
Cal: 440ppm
Mg: 1300ppm

Thanks,
Tyler

Be sure to acclimate it to high light slowly just in case it wasnt in high light before. I would say high light med/high flow.

I have mine about 8" under and 10" off center of a 150 Phoenix, strong indirect flow and get good growth and great color. Have fragged it and placed A frag at about the same distance away but exactly under and color isn't as good. With the main colony I placed it at a 45 degree angle and it really took off.

med/low under 250w phoenix 14k, still need to move it up a bit...

I have mine at the top with moderate flow. Running t-5's. Growing like a weed!

High light and flow.

The color is more dependent on water quality than anything. This goes for anything with blue, or blue tips.

Nice looking. I had mine up high under 400w and T-5 with moderate flow. It died in a tank crash but was happy where I had it.
