Both are nice but the aussie is slightly nicer than the original IMO. I noticed they encrust differently. the original encrusts with compact branching while the aussie has much smoother individual branch growth.

so is this OG or aussie you think?

To small and uncolored to tell at this point. In the end if you trust the source of where it came from then life is good. If you are unsure about the source then let it grow out some more and keep your finger crossed it colors up into something that you can enjoy. There is piece of mind when you buy from trusted folks or vendors. In the end that can be worth more than the coral themselves

Oh I for sure will enjoy the piece and it did come from someone who is reliable and can be trusted, but the only thing I was told about it was that it was a ice fire and being new to SPS myself I did some digging and found ( just like every other category LPS,SOFTIES theres always a ton of varient's in one species ) Just was wondering what exact one this was. But you are right still way early to know what one for sure and hopefully I can keep it around long enough to tell. Thats a niece piece you have by the way hopefully mine will grow into something like that.
Thanks

LIGHTING Phoenix 14k 150w brand new bulb not even past the 100 hour break in.
CA 450 ELOS
ALK 8.5 ELOS
MG 1400 SALIFERT
PH CONSTANT 8.4
DOSING , Oceans blend two part for alk and ph, calcion by brightwell,
water change's done every week 15% water mixed for 48 hours with brightwell salt.

So this might help with color questions since when I got it, it was white base with blue tip's I do believe I do need to move it higher in the tank since it is still at the bottom 19in down under a new bulb though. it seems to be happy no STN/RTN but no polyp extension either but as far as I know the ice fire has never been to big on extending it's polyps.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I think your parameters are fine and the Icefire can probably do fine given a bit more light. I have only seen polyp extension on mine at night.
