I have a IM nuvo 40 and just recently bought a icecap 1k gyre pump and installed it in the tank tonight and the flow seemed to be way to much for my tank. I dialed it all the way down to 10-20% but it still blasted my tank. Any one have any experience with these pumps that can give me any tips, maybe something I'm doing wrong. I've seen them run in smaller tanks then mines so must be something I'm doing. I am replacing 2 aqamai kps pumps. TIA!

The ice cap can move quite a bit of water, you can try adjusting the direction of the flow by twisting the cage and, with the 1k, you're supposed to be able to remove one of the impellers and cap it off if you need to. I have the 3k in my tank and played with it for a while until I was happy with the flow

Yea I have to mess with it more tonight I may try it with only one side on as well. Ty!

No problem!
Well I tried with only one side on and at 10-20% pulse mode and it still was way to much flow. My fungia was getting blown across the sand. Not sure what else I can do to slow it down any more.

I have my 3k mounted vertically in one corner instead of horizontally. By doing that in my tank I was able to create several areas with high medium and low flow. Have you tried that yet?

I did try verticallyal in the corner but I kicked up sand like crazy.

Mine did at first too but it settled down after a bit. I found the alternating mode worked best with the way I have it
I'll have to keep messing with it. Thanks for all the input.
