Icecap 1k not running at full potential..

I picked up a 1k gyre for a tank that has been running for two months. It’s been absolutely fine and running strong this whole time. I went to crank up the flow yesterday to give the tank a little more for so sps frags. That’s when my problem started. I had it at 20% and had really great flow. I turned it up to 30% and now it’s seems weaker....I took it out and cleaned it....still weak...like I can turn it up to 100% and yes there is increase but not nearly what it should. I now have to run the pump at 40% to get what I was getting at 20% before. Any ideas? I did get it to give more after turning it off twenty times then 50% was like a surge pump then I adjust the flow and it went all weak again....

That sounds about right. The rotors need to be cleaned about every 2 months. My Gyre 350 did the same thing, then I saw where BRS said that the rotors get dirty and you will loose 10 to 20 percent efficiency. I cleaned the rotors, nothing else, and the flow was back to 100 percent.
