I would argue for you to get the larger pump and put it on a lower setting. That way you will be able to use it when you get the itch to upgrade.


I agree but with my Nano that will always stay up. That is where i keep all my Top grade corals. I will sometimes frag them out and put the colonies in my Large DT. But i will always have my nano running =)

I had one on my IM Fusion 20, it was a bit too strong even at the lowest settings IMO. It peeled off the tissue on one of my Stylocoeniella corals on the other side of the tank for instance. Also would cause significant dust storms and pile sand into low flow areas. I even switched the paddle wheels around on the unit to produce less flow with one sided configuration and it still looked like too much at 10% (which is the lowest it goes).


That is another thing I was worried about. Because my tank is roughly on 24 gallons in the tank with a 6 gallon all in one sump. Have you tried it on reverse like @ReefinItReal88 does? Or did you end up getting a new Power Head?
