icecap 3k gyre help

I have 2 ice cap 3k gyre's that I bought now. Ive had them for about 4 months now and they work great. I only have one issue wiht them and im not sure if its just the way they work or if its a controller malfunctioning.

When I hold the power button down to turn them off, like completely off not on feed mode they will randomly turn back on. This isntuch of an issue but when they turn back on themselves they default to manual speed at 100%. Two of these at 100% in a 75 gallon tank is....not good lol.

Anyone else have this issue?

now that you mention it mine gyre does almost the same thing. When it turns back on, it goes back to the program I have set and at the speed I have set.

I've never had to turn off my unit for an extended time. Weird that it will just turn on. But let's see if we can do a workaround.

What happens if you disconnect then reconnect? Does it go back to manual mode?

Change the manual mode to match your auto desired settings. Turn off unit. Wait for it to come on. If it reverted to manual mode... Does it at least match your auto settings?

I always run a schedule. but if I turn it completely off while im say doing a water change or something else it will just randomly tunr back on but on manual mode at 100%. lately I have just been unplugging it comepletely so I don't have it happen

Are they mounted outside the stand and away from high humidity?

I have not had this happen. Mine runs at 50% continuous mode. I also haven't shut it off in over 3 months by my best guess. I'll try this after I eat dinner and let you know if it does the same as yours. Kinda got me interested to see if mine does this now.

Mine turns off fine. Have you tried updating the firmware?

Just wondering, how do y’all like the gyre? I’ve been looking to get one but reviews aren’t that good. Is it really noisy as people claim?

Curious Do you have The new Digital Controller or the Original controller. I know the original controller has a SD Card port. New one does not that i have seen. I have two of the 3k with the new Digital Controller.. I run mine in Alternating Gyre mode and Have never used AUTO .

This could be a Firmware bug. If you have the new Controller Post your Exact auto programming and we can try to reproduce your issue.. I know mine Running in manual/Alternating Gyre mode i do not have this issue. I have turned mine off and on many times play with different modes and Configurations. But i have NEVER Used AUTO Mode.

If you have the original Controller the one without the LED Display maybe someone else can help.. ALSO Contact icecap and tell them how to reproduce this .

Does this happen with BOTH of your Pumps or Just one?
