Icecap 3k: How to run only one side?

I am downgrading my 90g to a IM Nuvo 38 and I am trying to reuse as much of my equipment as possible. I have an Ixecap 3K gyre style powerhead that I would like to reuse but it way to powerful.

I remeber reading that you can cap one of the sides and just run half of the powerhead. Does anyone have a link or know how to do this?

I have two on 46 bow tank. Have you remove impellers from your gyre, youtube shows how,I think. Eliminate one impeller with its protective cover around impeller, ceramic shaft too. That's all
