Quick question,
Is the rear magnet waterproof?
I would like to mount it on my overflow.
Thanks

Following as I was thinking the same

I have a 60gal cube that is visible from three sides. I really don’t want to buy anything on the sides.

Mine is encased as well but that doesn't mean it's necessarily waterproof or designed to be in the water at all times. I have mine on one of the side walls but don't really like the looks of it there. I would like to put it on the back wall but I have a coast to coast overflow that goes the entire length of the back wall so the rear magnet would have to go inside my overflow

I can't find any seam that would leak but there's no marking saying water proof either. I looked on my original box and can't find anything. Maybe email coralvue. Just going by looks though it seems pretty covered.

Thanks for looking. I’ll send an email out on Monday.

Easy fix -- enclose it in a ziplock bag. Then don't worry about it. I've done it for Jabao magnets to put in overflow box
There’s something I didn’t think about. Thanks

Got to love the genius in that simplicity. I looked at mine as well and there doesn't seem to be a seam. However there are two rubber pads on it to protect the glass and I don't know what's behind those pads.

I sort of hit me one day while I was at work sort of day dreaming thinking on pump placement and thought - Jeez I wish I could attach the pump to the overflow box, but I didnt want to risk the magnet rusting on the inside after seeing horror stories on this forum...Then it hit me, just enclose the magnet!

Just make sure to squeeze all the air out of the bag!

I put the question to BRS and they said “it should be fine”.
