has anyone out here have any info on the 36 xl or 48 xl? I need a new sump for my 220...thoughts?

I just got the icecap 36XL sump delivered yesterday.. The way they incorporated the refugium with passive flow is amazing and the H2o Reservoir sealed the deal for me. My tank dimensions will be 42L X26W X 24T, MY sump is 36LX23.5W. This sump feels like it was custom build for my tank.. Highly recommended.

FYI< this was a question I had before purchasing but could never hand answered. - Does the fuge get fed before the sock! If you look at my first picture the water is fed after the filter sock

Excellent Product..I've used Icecap ballast in the past and trust their name. IMO the refugium and ATO are perfect size. I can go 8 days before needing to replenish the water. All detritus accumulates by the protein skimmer section for easy removal.

How much is held in the water storage area?

It is listed at 12 gallons. I can go max 10 days without filling it(which is risky) but generally fill it every 7-8 days. my tank and sump actual system volume is 128 gallons

No Con's this was the only sump I could find to fit in a small stand that accommodated all my needs for a natural system (refugium, cryptic zone(add on), skimmer). Its also dead quiet and requires minimal cleaning.

Do you have a valve installed between your manifold and your return nozzle?! Wondering how you force water or control flow to your manifold.

The manifold is just in-line from the return to the tank. Each section to the manifold has its own ball valve.

it gets discharged in the refugium. The inlet is the same thing only its coming from the valve via a 1/2 silicone tube i got from amazon.
