Bump.

Have you tried to ask the manufacturer?

I did but they were unsure. So I was under the impression that the older controllers had the ability to control 2 pumps like the newer controller. That is not the case so I will have to buy the newer controller to run the 2 pumps I have in mind. The reason I was asking was because I found the older 3k's for about 100 and was gonna buy a 4k pump only, but thats not possible on the older controller.

That's pretty bad when the manufacturer can't even tell you if some of their equipment is or isn't backwards compatible! I really would have expected more for a manufacturer like Icecap. SAD!

Yeah the response said that its the same connector, but they were unsure if it would work with the older controller. Turns out my idea isnt even possible as the older controllers only control one pump at time. Will probably get two of the 4ks for my 150 still.

I know this is an older thread, but I am looking for the same info and wanted to see if any updates have come through? I have a 3k with the older controller (Blue Controller) and can't seem to find the replacement blades and was wanting to see if the 4k would work with the older style controller.

imao, if the 3K works well with the new controller, the 4k should work. The only question is about the power of the 4k vs the power of the 3k controller. specs for 4k says consume up to 45watts, for 3k says up to 40w. So basically, either the 4k wont be able to work at full power, and/or the controller/power supply risk overheating. But 5 watts is not that much, considering that usually power equipment are designed with some headroom. I believe their answer was more like, "it will work, but we will not commit to saying it will work well and safely"

Just got this response from CoralVue

We will be getting the propellers back in stock next week, please check our website as we will update it as soon as they arrive. The 3K propellers and parts have not been discontinued and there are no plans to discontinue them, additionally, any parts that fit the 4K pump will fit the 3K pump. The 2K pump will not work with the old blue controller but the 4K pump will.
