Icecap battery backup reduced flow power?

I recently got an icecap battery backup for 1 of my tunze 6095 powerheads. I noticed the flow from the pump on the backup was significantly reduced. So I switched the power supplies and the power increased back to normal. Is this to be expected? I did have to use one of the included adapter plugs. Any thoughts?

Might be running on battery i know when my kick to back up it runs at 30% to maximize how long the battery last. So i would check your wiring.

Yes, sure enough I hooked it up wrong! I only used the single wire directly from battery to controller. Hooked it up with the split cable power supply>battery>controller... full power! Good to know it will reduce power on the tunze when on battery though. Thanks!
