Icecap gyre 3k

I notice it comes in 2 different controllers, one is blue and the other is black with about 2" display.
what is the different? old? new?

Black one is the new controller box. I have the 1K with the black controller and from what I hear the black box is improved over the blue box, I like having the screen as well to see what's going on.
