I’m having an issue with my IceCap 2k on a Wave Engine. I installed the pump, but it’ll only run at maximum RPM and not respond to slider controls. I’ve moved the cable to different outputs with no luck, deleted, and re-added but the same result. I’ve reverted back to the stock controller but I’m hoping it’s an easy fix on something I missed.

Can you go into your gyre preset for that pump and take a screen shot?

Are you in a position to make changes? Do you have the pump hooked up to direct position 3? If yes humor me for a second and change the position to opposite end.

I would also change this to like 3 seconds.

That's a very long duration you have for a sine wave .

thanks on the duration I left it at default while trying so figure out the noise.

In the app I’m now seeing the percentage changing but the pump is loud when connected to the wave engine vs the dual controller. Loud enough to be heard between floors in my house where it was silent on the stock control. I originally thought that it was stuck on full RPM because it was so loud but now I’m not sure but I never see the shaft RPM change from 1290 RPM

Here is how I have the dual controller configured

Luckily I’m cycling the tank and can mess with all of this and not worry

I’ll have to submit a ticket because the pump should not be making this much noise on the Wave Engine but be dead silent on the Dual Controller. I put a ticket in a few days ago for this issue and didn’t get a response from support but will try again

Okay I inverted the rotation and the pump is now silent and running properly. Why would this be? Bad cable from the WE with revered pinout? Before I inverted it the RPMs were always in the 1200 range now they fluctuate to the wave. I appreciate your help love the gyre and WE this is driving me nuts but enjoying troubleshooting it

not inve

Btw I would change that sine wave back to a higher number. 3 seconds is really fast. We did that just for a test. 30 seconds is fine. I just wanted to ensure you saw water movement .

I'm not sure about the inversion thing. Could be the blades?? I'm not sure if that model has different blades you use for forward and reverse rotation. The best thing to do would be to submit a ticket on that part.

Hope I helped. some. :)

You did and appreciate it!! It is odd that it generates noise when on the Wave Engine and running forward. If I am on the stock Controller or Inverted it is silent. I entered a ticket and Carlos has responded so hopefully we can figure something out because I am lost at this point.

Well you are definitely in good hands. Like I said it might have something to do with the blades, but honestly I'm not 100 percent positive on that. I know Carlos will definitely know more about it. :)

@augie23 did you get a resolution to the noise issue? I just hooked my two existing pumps to the waveengine and both are whining very loudly. I can hear them from the bedroom on the opposite end of my apartment.

I just did a forced reboot and the pumps are quiet again. All other problems still exist. Going to have to submit a ticket. It doesn't appear any changes are being updated to the engine. Feed / water change mode don't work. I've changed flow patterns with extended durations and nothing. :-(
