Icecap k2-50 Skimmer Question

There’s a screw that hangs down below the water level on this skimmer... it’s set at the right height but just makes me uneasy to have metal in the water... is this ok?

Really surprised they used metal for that? Most are some type of plastic.. I would keep a eye on it hopefully it’s something none corrosive like titanium

its a titanium screw
I have that skimmer in my tank and like it alot once it started skimming

My K2-50 has been working great on the frag tank. As noted, it's titanium and there should be no worry.

Nice - it looks like yours is at the exact same water level as mine. Is that a 20h sump?

Aqueon 10 gallon. Tight fit, but that's why I bought it. Perfect dimensions for the application.

Sorry to bother you. How high is the collection cup from the mount bracket. Looking to get one for my red sea max.

Yes sir. I have a Red Sea max and looking to hang it off my baffle in the back.

I don't use that bracket, but I'll try and find it. You want height from the rim of your baffle to the top of the collection cup I take it?

I can't find the bracket easily, it's probably packed away. The bottom of the white ring on the top of the housing body to the top of the skimmer lid is 8.5". The air silencer adds another 1/4" to that as it can hang off the top of the lid.

Any issues with the skimmer? Thinking of adding to my Red Sea max 250 in the sump in the back.

I had the pump missing the venturi brand new, but CoralVue took care of it and sent me a second one. I've since put that second to use, the original pump died. It's not a sicce like the larger in the K2 series. Other than that, I love it. For the profile it's hard to beat. I think it's been replaced with the new orange series.
