Icecap light question

Hi

so I received my icecap algae scrubber medium 60w

I’ve watched a few videos on it where you can clearly see the light/led cluster. However my lights have a black square on them. I thought perhaps it’s a film but it doesn’t appear to be. They light up etc just wondering if it’s the medium design?
