Icecap skimmers Versus reef Octo

Looking for Info on new Icecap with blue and white coloring skimmers versus reef octo. Which is a better buy and Real life experience please. Thanks

Ice cap skimmers are basic and do the job (owned a few). Reef Octo is definitely a level above ice cap, my gripe is that they don't have a small footprint IMHO.

Ice cap is all I’ve ever used. Can’t say about the other brand, but I think ice cap works for my purpose.

Reef octo running 4 years.
Quiet and efficient.
At the end of the day, just a tube of bubbles.

They are not even in the same ballpark. Reef Octopus is insanely better. You get what you pay for. I don’t know what size you are looking for or what your budget is, but the RO Regals are amazing. I prefer external skimmers, they are more stable.

I don't have any experience with Icecap. I do like Reef Octo skimmers. They are built like a tank.

Thanks I Bought two classic skimmers from Reef octo, They work Great.

Why are they more stable?

I have an RO elite 200int. Thought about getting an external, but it sucks you have to buy the skimmer plus a feed pump

The water level never changes due to sump changes (evap, return pump off, etc.)

Ahh gotcha. I wonder if you could run it off a return pump manifold
