I do not like the wasted space of built in ATO I have one> Could have been better for added reactor space IMO.

The built in ATO in the Icecap sumps is why I didn't go that route. It would be nice if there were more options. I see why they try to make them all inclusive though.

I originally went with the ice cap because of the ato and the black Friday sale was hard to beat, but now I wish I didn't, its better having a remote ato resivor specifically designed for its task, plus its not big enough anyway,im always filling it. I'd rather have more water volume in the sump.....

I was looking at the 48xl version and liked a lot about it but knew I was going to use a remote ATO. Yeah your thinking, I wasn't..but now I'm having crazy up grade thoughts, I gotta suppress those...
I do like the 7" because its easier to clean for me and I can get a few days out of it before it clogs, but I have one 7", idk I rush bought the sump, but your exactly right about that ATO thing.
