Which would you choose and why? The IceCap has a 100 dollar lower price point and seemingly the plumbing is exactly the same. The units look identical in construction and functionality the only discernible difference I could detect is the light placement. A buddy of mine had a ClearWater unit that leaked when the spray bar clogged. Supposedly this has been fixed. Just looking for general opinions here.

I have the icecap and love it. To be perfectly honest, you are. It going to get a good comparison this way. Most people will get one or the other and won’t be able to do fair critique of the two. That bing said I don’t think you can he wrong with either but for the $100 cheaper price I would do the icecap.

I just got the ice cap ATS and it's the small one for my 90. Gallon and it's doing a great job so far and it's well made. No light spill except the box has a glow to it because it's white. For the price it's well worth it. You will be happy

My Big concern is leaking as it won't be placed over the sump. I don't want the spray bar to go nuts or anything. Thanks for the reply

both are fairly equal, ive had hadns on experience with both. The construction on the clear water is slightly better, but not by much.

They have put a shield over it it doesn't leak or spray outside of box. I have mine set behind tank. So if leaks my hardwood floor is gone. I'm not worried about that.

Spray pipe has a bigger pipe to keep spray on screen. That was a great idea they came up with plus splash shield and o ring to keep water spraying out the top
