Ich- 10 gallon Quarantine tank

1 year old 125 gallon reef with watchman goby, kole eye tang, ocellaris clownfish pair, yellow tang and blue hippo tang (yellow, kole, and blue hippo tangs are all around 2 inches). The most recently added fish is showing signs of ich; was not quarantined properly. My question, is it safe to quarantine this stock load in a 10 gallon tank and treat? I am assuming this would be a 6 week method to run tank fallow after treatment in 10 gallon. Can this be done safely in this small of a tank?

You will need a bigger QT tank. Given the size and number of fish I would say at least a 40 breeder is possible. The tangs are just too big and need room and a 10 gallon just does not provide that.

Thanks for that input. In your opinion these fish will die from the stress of the small living conditions? How long would you estimate it could work before being transferred into a larger system? I made the move this morning to copper and 10 gallon do to the disease forcing my hand. Would I have been better off leaving in larger system without copper for remainder of week? Thanks just trying to gather information, my goal is to rid system and keep all fish alive in the process.

I don't know if they will die from the stress per say but confining the three tangs in a 10 gallon tank is not ideal. They were in a 125 gallon with room to move and more than likely territories. Now in a 10 gallon, that is all thrown out the window. Do you have access to a larger QT tank? If you do the sooner the better to get them in a larger QT tank.
