ICH! Advice on how to treat this situation

Something got cross-contaminated somehow and Ich has found it's way into my main display. Given the number, and types, of fish involved, and available QT space, I'm struggling on the best way to treat this problem.

I have a 75 gallon display, mixed reef, filled to the top with corals of every variety so treating the main display is not possible. I'll have to pull all the fish out if I want to eradicate the invasion.

I only have a 29 gallon and a 7 gallon tank available for QT/Treatment, so tank transfer isn't an option. I've been told by some that fairy wrasses don't tolerate copper well -- nor do they do well in hyposalinity -- and I've also been told that there's a good chance that hyposalinity alone won't kill all the ich anyway.

I feel like I'm screwed here. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have treated several fairy wrasse in copper. Take your time ramping up to the therapeutic level. I use copper power at 1.75ppm and a Hanna checker for accurate monitoring.

Your best option IMO is copper based on your available tanks and situation.

Thanks. I have concerns about that number of fish with the available space. It seems like the water would be poisoned and oxygen-depleted very quickly. How do you handle the need for frequent water changes when you're trying to maintain a stable level of medicine?

When using copper (for example), match the replacement water with the same Cu level as the QT.

First off you will want some sort of HOB filter with media for the bacteria to live upon. Dose bio-spira to help Kickstart biofilter.

WCs aren't too bad during copper. It's 1ml per gallon once you have reached the therapeutic level (if you are treating at 1.75ppm and using copper power). So if you remove 4 gallons of water add 4ml of copper power back to 4 gallons newly mixed water prior to adding it back to the tank etc.

Use an ammonia badge to monitor ammonia and a powerhead aimed upward to agitate the surface to generate oxygen. You can also add an airstone. I use both in all QTs.

Do you plan on adding anymore fish? Do they seem like the are fighting it off well. If so maybe plumbing a uv sterilizer inline and trying to keep things stable and as healthy as possible and maybe after sometime the crypto will burn itself out.
