I know that Ich only attaches to hard surfaces. Would algae qualify as a hard surface? I'm adding some live algae (lettuce and ogo) to my sump on Friday. Do I need to restart my 76 window clock or am I good if I rinse it?

I sure hope starting a new tank is the hardest part of keeping a tank disease free. I can SO understand why people don't QT when they start with this hobby. Having a beautiful 120g tank with no fish stinks. :(

Below is the only study I've ever seen regarding attachment. Macroalgae wasn't tested, but I would at the very least put it in a bucket for 48 hrs to kill any potential theronts that might be on it.

Not sure I understand. A dry bucket? RO/DI water?

A 5 gal bucket with SW. Any theronts will starve to death after 48 hrs if denied a fish host to feed upon.
Of course... Thank you for your patience with me!
