My 40 G reef had an ich out-break about a month ago, sorry to say none of the fish survived.
The 40 G has about 15 LPS corals, mostly frog spawn, hammer, acans, and etc...
Therefore, what I would like to do is transfer those corals to my 125G DT reef.
Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this without the risk of infecting my DT tank with ich?
I really don't want to loose these corals, but I also don't want to risk infecting the DT.

Thank you,

You would have to leave them in the tank they are in (without fish) for 76 days to be sure the ick has all gone and died. Then you could put them in your DT with minimal fear.

agreed. coral cannot get infected with ich, but ich can rest on the coral until a suitable hose arrives. putting them in your display would be a sure fire way to introduce ich to your display tank.

Your right, but it does actually attach to the coral. It's part of the life cycle where it encysts on a hard surface before breaking free to swim and look for a host. If no host is found it will die. this can be anywhere from 4 - 76 days depending on the strain.

yup. rest was a bad choice of words but we had the same intent.

So you know Mer, that was a compliment not sarcasm.

I'm the queen of sarcasm! lol I knew it wasn't sarcasm I just have a hard time accepting compliments gracefully. I seem to always fumble with it.
