Ich and velvet in USA

There seems to be at least one post about ich or velvet everyday on the forum and I just checked a forum here in the uk and I went through the first 10 pages not one mention of ich or velvet is there something in the distribution of fish in the USA that there seems to more of ich and velvet .

It’s defo in the UK aswell pretty sure I’ve had both cases, don’t think many UK reefers use forums tbh
 
My observation is that velvet seems to be more prevalent in the US.
When it comes to ich I think it more a difference in mentality, for example here in Sweden almost everyone has ich in their system and QT is rare.
In the US however they seem to have The idea that it’s 100% lethal in most cases and go to great lengths to eradicate it....that would logically lead to more threads about it.

I'm not saying it isn't it definatly is just doesn't come up on the forums anywhere near as much I was just interested as to why

True - I’m so jealous of everyone that knows they have ich in their tanks and are still able to keep healthy happy fish - my blue tang was having none of it lol
 
I have had ich in my tank for over a year now and the fish rarely show any issues. I have focused on keeping them happy and healthy and that seems to do the trick. I have a powder blue and he hasn't had any spots for at least 10 months. Velvet on the other hand scares the heck out of me.
 
Ich can be managed! But it can be difficult and stressful at times.
