Ich and velvet meds

Stopped in at a local shop today and the owner and i got to talking about ich. I fought it and lost back in December and he had a recent outbreak in one of his frag tanks he has like 10 tangs in. He used this stuff and said his corals had no downside effects of it and his ich was gone in 4 days. Anyone else ever used it? He swears by the stuff now.

It controls it. Doesn’t cure it. Nothing but metro, CP, or copper actually are proven to work. It will eliminate it for the most part, but the second a stressing event that affects the fish’s immune system happens, the ich will come back.

I have never seen any proof that any such products and there are many that claim to rid ick.
Either you kill the parasite by copper or starve it by TTM, or explode it with Hypo.

Sometimes fish get ick but don’t succumb to it as they may be strong and healthy.

The person who makes a potion that kills ick in a DT, without killing anything else will be rich.

once its in your tank there is no cure for it other than taking all your fish out for a few months. you can put a fish in q/t and cure it but if you dont get it out of your tank it can have it back on it the next day. Right now i have a 125 setting fishless for 2 more weeks to be 80 days because of an ich breakout that took the few fish i had in it. This stuff being reef safe and invertabrae safe is what caught my eye since you can treat your display tank and not have to tear it apart to catch a fish..

yep...that will be a rich person over night when someone figures it out and i am sure there are some working on it.. wish i was smarter...lol

I’m aware of the fallow period needed. I’m talking about the meds for the fish.

I swear by Polyplab Medic. It's worked for me in the past.
