I got a reef tank with about 100g. About a month ago I got ich or velvet and wiped out my whole tank. I got a 6 line wrasse left in the tank with no signs of parasites. I know I most leave my tank with no fish for at least 75 days but I cannot get the wrasse out. My question is ; the wrasse has 0 signs of parasites, do I need to get him out in order for the parasites to disappear from the tank?

thank you, I really appreciate any help.

So the wrasse could be managing the ich which is possible and probably why it isn't showing any signs, only way to completely be sure is to run the tank fallow. Ich management is a thing though if you search the forums I'm sure there's more info on it. It's pretty much the process of keeping the tank low stress so the fish can naturally deal / manage the parasite , good luck!

You can NOT eradicate the parasite unless you run 100% fallow tank. The fish will continue to feed the life cycle but they have built up an immunity to the parasite and therefore dont exhibit visible symptoms. However they are present in the gills in small numbers.

understood. I have to find a way to get the wrasse out. Thank you so much
