I have lost 2 chromis and 2 clown fish to whatever this is, he looked worse last night he had some white stuff in his forehead and on his body they weren’t spots though, now i think what you see is the missing scales from whatever was on his skin and my guess is that he is getting better and I was able to get off his body whatever it was, I can only think of ich if i was able to get it off his body in a quarantine tank with copper in it, I have him a clown fish and a flame hawckfish inside my quarantine, can someone confirm that it was ich or what else it could be ? Thanks for the help guys ...

On man I hope that’s what that is if it gets rid of it quickly

I'm sorry, I meant the virus works quickly, and I'm not sure if the treatment is guaranteed - although metronidazole is the only treatment I know of. Check with Humblefish QT protocol. It is involved, but your display will be disease free.

Thanks you for the reply, I’m in between ich and Brooklynella , Uronema ? Not so much because one of the clown fish that died was almost covered in white stuff when he died and his eyes were a it red, my clownfish I have now I have seen like 3 white dots on him, the chromi has white stuff on him too but the thing is that I would see the chromi swim by rocks and try to scratch his body against the rocks, and my flame hawckfish doesn’t look fully red when I see him close he has like a faded color red on him

Mayb i have both

Yes, perhaps both. Reach out to the guys in the disease forum - they are the pros for sure. Either way, both kill very quickly. Make sure you click on the links to treatment in the linked thread above.

Uronema marinum is not a virus, it’s a parasite. It’s also one that can feed on bacteria so cannot be fallowed out of a tank. I’ve no idea if metroplex would work. I’ve treated for uronema in my QT tanks using chloroquine phosphate. Once fish show lesions, its usually too late but CP can help fish that haven’t developed them yet. If there’s good news, it’s that most fish are not susceptible to the parasite. Mostly chromis and pseudoanthias.

As noted, you may have brook as well.

Thank you for the correction, and help here.
