I know that people ask about this till they are bllue in the face but ive seen so many answers its made my head spin. I was dumb and didnt QT my new Kole tang and it ich bombed my tank i lost all my fish besides a $8.00 fire fish :squigglemouth: . I am on week 7 with no fish in my DT and im going to wait till the end of week 8 to introduce a fish or two. 8 weeks a safe time to let the ich die? Again thanks for any guidence you all can give me.

Yeah 8 weeks seems to be the normally approved safe time. If you wait it out another week as a precautionary wouldn't hurt but probably not needed as long as it has been a full 8 weeks.

Some people will say they don't work, but I like to have a couple cleaner shrimp in the display especially w/ tangs as a precautionary measure. I have had a few smaller outbreaks with healthy fish and the cleaner shrimp seemed to help.... and they are pretty cool to watch IMO as well.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I too agree, 8 weeks should be fine. Good luck

Thank you all for your fast response! @chort55 i bought 2 skunk cleaner shrimp at the end of my outbreak. They are now established in the tank just in case it happens again LOL
