So I've been reading up on marine ich, and I read that ich attach to fish only at dark, so wouldn't a 3 day cycle of full on light force the tomites to not jump onto the fish, and thus within a couple days kill the ich in its larval stage?

A couple of websites say that ich tomites only attach themselves at night when a fish is sleeping, so I got to wonderingI've never heard this....

Yeah I'm just reading up just in case something bad happens, now that I'm going to be putting in an ich magnet soon. The best thing to fight ich is feeding your fish and keeping then healthy they will fight it on their own

What's an ich magnet and where do I get one?
I agree I have tried everything possible in the past. Most treatments just caused everything else to get stressed and kill off coral. The last time I had a ich outbreak I just feed them with food soaked in garlic 4-5 times a day. I did loose the fish that showed signs of ich first but everything else survived. The best thing to fight ich is feeding your fish and keeping then healthy they will fight it on their own
Lol I would never put a regal in a 55, Ive got a kole. tangs are generally called ich magnets.Cheesus, I wouldn't put that fish in a 55. The ich magnet will likely turn your tank into an ich factory once it gets some size to it.
I thought that would leave the ich in your tank?Ok I have 4 tangs on my 185 and one of them being a white cheeks tang which is label just like the powder blue about ich. The others are a regal, yellow and sailfin and yes they do get ich every now and then but they fight it off. The way I kept the white cheeks from dying was I would spot feed mysid until he ate
I believe is all about feeding.
Did you QT or anything?Well I just lost 2 cole yellow eyed tangs so we are at 3 fish in one day

I would remove any remaining fish, and wait 6 weeks for all the ich tomites to die, and in the mean time does copper to the remaining fishYes but I have a yellow tang that was given to me for fathers day that kept harassing my powder blue stress him out and he got it and spread the joy around
