So I've seen alot of "this is what ich looks like pics" and they always appear to be small specks. Had it in a freshwater and again small specks. Came home from work today and one of my clownfish is covered in well looks like large grains of sand. Is this ich also? It's a newish 36 bowfront tank fully cycled
Added the 2 clowns first

Royal gramma 2 days after vigorously checking for a spike

A tiny spotted mandarin (eats pellets so no concerns about it starving) 5 days after

No spike with any of the additions (used rocks from an established tank)

Readings are:
0 ammonia
0 nitrites
5ppm nitrates
8.1 ph
78 degrees

With Clownfish the first thing we think of is Brooklynella aka "Clownfish" disease.
Early stage Brook can present like Ich and or Velvet.

Can you post a closer picture? With Brook we look for skin sloughing off.

No skin was coming off nor was there irregular breathing. Unfortunately I cant take another pic because I moved the clownfish into a home depot 5 gal mixing bucket that's my temp hospital. I did apply a dose of ich x on the off chance that it is ich

Was able to get a few pics of the clowns upper portion the white spots seem to have popped? Or atleast dimished in size
