Ich Issue

My take would be that you have to decide your course of action. Is it worth tearing the tank down or better to try and live with it? Do you have enough QT space even if you did? Maybe those two tagged in here will have a better answer for you.
Ya that's one of my issues. I hate to say it but i would probably loose more in coral than in fish after a tear down. plus i have several large fish the size of CD's. I am going to need a large QT and really have no where to put it. hell the cost alone could hinder my process

So why is it that the Tang is the only one affected. any idea

The others have a stonger immune system to fight off the majority of the parasites so you can't seem them outwardly. Ich will harbor in the gills- out of sight- and when it gets the chance will show itself on the body. Tangs have thin slime coats and can be overcome with ich easier than a lot of other species.

That could be a problem. How many fish is it total? I used a 40 breeder to house 7 fish including two tangs. They all did well in there for the 76 days of the fallow period. I want to say that I didn't lose a single coral during my ordeal. If your careful and mindful, you shouldn't have any problems like that. Of course, my reef wasn't fully grown in and attached well to very many rocks at that point. Just be careful and think each step through as you do it.

100 gallon Rubbermaid tub worked well for me for QT. They are about $100 so easily worth the cost of not losing a fish or two.

I hear you on the corals, my coral stock is worth about 5x more than my fish anyday, but I'd be surprised if you actually have any issues moving corals to catch fish. I've done that twice with my corals and I was moving football sized SPS colonies and montis with no issues afterwards. In a healthy system, they are pretty resilient. For your mature tank, I don't think they'll even bat an eyelash.

So just got home and looking at most of the fish. everyone looks fantastic. the one yellow tang with the spots. well there is nothing visible again. she looks like a fresh fish so to speak

That can happen. If this is just a severe case of ich then it will drop off the fish as part of it's life cycle and show up again soon. It wont be gone until you go fallow - fishless-for 76 days in the DT and treat the fish. Just keep that in mind if your wanting to just manage ich in your tank. The tangs will show it first every time (mostly).
