The question:
Is this ICH on my yellow Tang that is currently in Cupramine or something else?

The history:
To condense a long sorry. Set up a DT in Febuary. I didn't QT anything and it bit me. Lost quite a few fish to what I believe was a combo ICH/Velvet attack. Vowed not to make that mistake again.

DT is on day 46 of it's fallow period.

My survivng fish have been in QT for this time. The first 30 day copper period ended on the 14th this month never let the copper leves drop below .5 in that time. ***Note*** I did rense the sponge with fresh water during the QT period. I also took out the PVC and gave it a freshwater only scrub to get the crud off.

Went on a short vacation and got back tang looked like it had ICH once again. Began copper once again on 8/20 and got levels to approx .5 per salifert test kit by 8/23. It's probably slightly higher. (Today's test posted below)

Treating food with Selcon for the HLLE FYI.

Please help us if you can. Mellow yellow was cooperative with the pics because he wants the help too. Any and everything is very much appreciated.

And the watchman goby for moral support .

I would like to add that at the beginning of this treatment Mellow Yellow had a few spots on his tail fin and one or two on his pectoral fin that are now gone.

I don't see any Ich in the pics. Where are you thinking you see ich?

In the first few pictures in front of his mouth. And on the pictures where he's facing the camera there are small flakes sprinkled all over.

Here is whyw I'm currently looking at.

If spots stay for more than 7 days or so, it’s not ich.

The little spots on stomach are small... hmm.. I’m stumped if not just part of the anatomy!

I will monitor the length of time they are there. Today is the first day I noticed these.

I may be overreacting but I'd rather be safe than sorry. If it's part of the anatomy that would be awesome. Or some redult of HLLE. Then I could rule a trasferable desease and continue to treat the real issue. The problem for me is the spots are not just on his belly but on the face too and around the mouth if you look closely you can see them. Even a few flakes along the body, which is hard to see if you don't have the right angle.

I appreciate the insight so far. Anyone else have any ideas?

Leaning perhaps to HLLE and some Lympho as response to the copper suppressing the tang's immune system. If so, high quality, varied foods with continuing the Selcon and pristine water conditions.

I will look more into Lympho. Thank you for your insight

Lymphocysistis is a viral disease that is generally harmless to saltwater fish. Not unlike the Herpies in humans. It will come and go. Giving your fish a very healthy diet will go a long way to helping the fish’s immune system to deal with the condition. Consider a fish “smoothie” which is a mix of several frozen fish cubes: Mysis, cyclops, seaweed, chopped clams, reef mix, etc. Place in a container in your fridge. Let it thaw. Pour off excess water. Mix. Add vitamins like Zoecon (formulated to fight Hlle), selcon, etc. Fish will love it. Stays good in the fridge for a few days.

I will follow your advise. Thank you for your time, it is truly appreciated.

Ok. So, Im good if we do not think it is Ich. My only question is this....the spots in the photos pictured below on both of his pectoral fins are what I observed when I first day after I removed the copper as stated above. Is this intact Ich or something else???. Mello yellow and his buddies are still in copper and I have not changed the levels or performed any water changes since copper was introduced. What are these spots? They just appeared today. I did not see them yesterday.

Bump for the morning crowd.

@Big G any new advise on the new pics?

Are those red-ish areas on the top and bottom fin in the photos above? If so, NFG (nitrofuracine green powder) works really well on those types of bacterial infections.
