Ich long term in reef tank

does anyone else take the approach of feeding live foods like brine and black worms along with added vitamins and garlic instead of ripping everything out and quarantine fish? Just curious

I just quarantine on the way in.

Been with ich for 2 years now. I haven't lost any fish due to ich.

Some people are successful with ich management. I believe ich is in every tank but certain fish are more prone to it and tank stress events trigger it.

I don't believe there are many long-term tanks out there that are 100% ich free 100% of the time. I'm sure there are some but you'd have to be so diligent. Quarantining corals, snails, crabs, macro, etc every time with out fail and never cross contaminating. Doable, sure....

Ich is easy to manage. Keep the fish well fed, their stress low and your water quality up and it's managed.

I had a decent outbreak a year and a half ago. I always bought quarantined fish. A wrasse got bit by something in the tank, ended up passing and boom, ich on half the fish in the tank.

Mixed Selcon in their food for a few weeks and it went away. I have tangs in the tank too. I haven't seen it since. I still buy quarantined fish.

I make no attempt to quarantine my fish unless they show visible signs of a high parasite load. My fish are well fed and happy, so I don't worry about it. I will see one or two spots from time to time, but they never grow in number.

Yes, I also purchase my fish from a place that quarantines the fish for me.
